Job SummaryThe OHE Foreman leads a crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables. The role ensures safety, tracks employee hours, conducts daily and weekly safety briefings, and coordinates with other departments to meet project goals.
Responsibilities- Obtain all necessary materials and ensure permits and licenses are in place.
- Oversee daily work on each project and take full responsibility for quality and timeliness.
- Comply with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to Mas Tec or the higher customer standard.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections; disseminate information and ensure understanding of safety briefings.
- Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing.
- Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals, attaching/detaching hardware as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise daily tasks for crew members related to digging and placing product.
- Perform construction work, including digging holes, placing cable, air pipe, and inner duct work in conduit systems and excavations.
- Climb utility poles and/or use aerial lift truck to place cables on poles per system design.
- Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completing work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 years of experience in the field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- 8 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
- OSHA 20 Certification.
This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and working in inclement weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). The position is physically active, demanding lifting up to 50 pounds and precise hand‑eye coordination. Employees must have clear vision at 20 feet or more or at 20 inches or less, and the ability to judge distance and color distinctions.
