We're building a brand new Oral Health servic e in Tower Hamlets and are looking for passionate Dental Therapists to join us. Whether you're looking for full time hours, part time working or term time only working, we'd love to hear from you. You'll work directly with children and young people in schools and community settings, delivering preventative, educational and clinical dental care that helps improve oral health, reduce inequalities and create healthier futures. You'll support children to build lifelong healthy habits while helping families access the care they need. Working alongside school nurses, public health colleagues and a wider multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in shaping a new service from the very beginning.
From fluoride varnish applications and oral health assessments to supervised tooth brushing programmes and engaging health promotion activities, no two days will be the same. About You
Your clinical skills are important, but it's your passion for prevention that will make the biggest difference.
You're someone who believes every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with a healthy smile. You enjoy working with children and families, building trusted relationships and helping people make positive changes that improve their health for years to come. You act with integrity, value others, find practical solutions and take pride in delivering high quality care that makes a real difference.
For this role, essentially you'll need:
- A BSc or Diploma in Dental Therapy (or equivalent).
- Current General Dental Council (GDC) registration.
- A Certificate in Fluoride Varnish Application.
- Experience delivering clinical dental therapy services and preventative dental care.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Knowledge of public health approaches to improving children's oral health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children, young people and families.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and delivering high quality, compassionate care.
