The role involves working collaboratively with GP Consultant colleagues, the Invicta Health leadership team, and practice staff to ensure the highest possible standards of patient care. The postholder will provide clinical oversight, leadership, and direction for the site, with a particular focus on supporting and developing the GP and Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) workforce. This role requires a visible on-site clinical leadership presence, ensuring accessibility to all staff for advice, guidance, and decision-making to support the safe and effective operation of the practice.
The postholder will also work in partnership with wider health and social care providers to deliver safe, integrated, and patient-centred services. In addition, the role includes active engagement in local and national initiatives to support the development of sustainable, high-quality healthcare provision.
St James Surgery is based in the seaside town of Dover, famous for its white cliffs and its strategic gateway to Europe. They are situated a short stones throw away from the beach and close to the historic Dover Castle. They are a thriving practice, supported by their patient population of circa 9000. St James Surgery is warm and friendly with a robust multi-disciplinary team, which includes Nurse Practitioners and a Clinical Pharmacist.
The multi disciplinary team is supported by an experienced administration team who handle referrals, prescriptions, reports and other general tasks. St James is one of seven GP practices that sit under Invicta Health. We are a well known community interest company, devoted to supporting and improving primary care in the Kent area., Invicta Health is a non-profit company, with a passion for primary care.
We have a wide range of services such as hub-based GPs services, GP surgeries, services in Urgent Care Centres and A&E, a Community Primary Care mental health service, GP staff training service and the list is growing all the time. We are formed by a federation of General Practitioners working in Canterbury and South Kent Coast areas of East Kent.
Our aim is to provide local, high quality services for local people by collaborating with other established organisations in the health and social care community.
