Academics, Canterbury are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN school in Dover. This school offers a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, providing exceptional support to pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Key Responsibilities:

Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis
Help with learning activities and maintaining a positive learning environment
Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual learning plans
Provide encouragement and emotional support to students

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children, ideally within a SEN setting (experience with Autism is highly desirable)
Patience, empathy and a passion for working with students with special educational needs
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with staff and pupils
A willingness to learn and grow in the role
A positive and proactive attitude

Ideally have experience of supporting pupils with:

Profound, Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties (PSCN)
Physical and Sensory Needs
Communication and Interaction Needs
Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
