Psychology Graduate - SEN Learning Support Assistant

East Kent (Canterbury, Folkestone, Dover & Thanet)

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to take your first step into education or child development?

Academics are working with a number of supportive and well‑resourced SEN schools across East Kent who are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology graduates to join their teams as Learning Support Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.

The Role

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to help create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Supporting communication and social development
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students
