A high-performing and oversubscribed Secondary School in Tower Hamlets is searching for a STEM Academic Mentor to join their exceptional team from September 2026. Renowned for its academic success, ambitious students and commitment to staff development, this school offers the perfect environment for a graduate looking to build a career within education.

As a STEM Academic Mentor, you will work closely with students across KS3 and KS4, supporting them both inside and outside of the classroom. You will deliver targeted interventions, lead small group sessions and provide academic support in Maths, Science and other STEM-related subjects, helping students maximise their potential and achieve outstanding outcomes.

This role would be ideal for an aspiring Teacher, Educational Psychologist or graduate passionate about supporting young people and raising attainment within STEM subjects.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Supporting students across KS3 & KS4
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group STEM interventions
  • Supporting attainment across Maths, Science and related subjects
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and learning resources
  • Working with students of varying abilities, including those requiring additional academic support
  • Promoting engagement, confidence and academic progress
  • Full-time / Term-Time Only
  • September 2026 Start
  • Located in Tower Hamlets
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Must hold a 1st Class or 2:1 degree in a Science-related subject from a reputable university
  • Strong academic background throughout education
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable
  • Passionate about education and student progress
  • Confident, patient and proactive individual
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aspiring Teacher or education professional
