A highly regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join its successful Humanities and Social Sciences department from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher looking to develop their career within a supportive and academically focused environment. The successful candidate will:

• Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5
• Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential
• Monitor, assess and support student progress effectively
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Play an active role in the wider life of the school community
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and attendance

Applicants should possess:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A relevant degree in Sociology or a related subject
• Experience teaching Sociology at secondary level
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A commitment to inclusive education and raising student achievement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
