In the heart of Tower Hamlets, a fantastic Primary School is on the hunt for a Linguistics Graduate to join their team from September 2026. This is a full‑time and long‑term role for the entire academic year.

What will your role as a Linguistics Graduate entail?
  • Acting as a Speech and Language / SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 & KS2
  • Supporting pupils with ASD, Speech and Language difficulties and communication needs
  • Supporting pupils with EAL and helping to develop confidence with spoken English
  • Emphasis on Phonics, Speech, Reading, Vocabulary and Communication
  • Working alongside the class teacher, SENCo and external specialists where required
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Helping pupils access the wider primary curriculum

This Primary School is well known for its inclusive, supportive and community‑focused ethos. It is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking and ambitious Linguistics Graduate looking to make a genuine difference within SEN, Speech and Language, EAL and early language development.

This role would be ideal for an aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, Primary Teacher, SEN Teacher, Educational Psychologist or graduate looking to gain hands‑on school‑based experience before further study.

The ideal Linguistics Graduate will have:
  • A Linguistics, English Language, Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies or related degree
  • A genuine interest in Speech and Language, SEN, EAL or child development
  • Some previous experience working with children would be desirable
  • A patient, calm and encouraging approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • A passion for helping children develop confidence, language and communication skills
  • A desire to make a genuine difference within a primary school setting

Trial days can be arranged immediately for interested candidates.
