Shatter locks Infant and Nursery School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and reliable

After School Club Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team from September 2026.

Previous experience of working with children would be an advantage; however, we would welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic, positive and passionate about supporting young children. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both children and adults are essential.

What the school offers its staff

Shatter locks Infant and Nursery School caters for up to 230 children. Children can begin in the Nursery when they are 3, move into school at age 4 and remain until they are 7 when they transfer to Barton Junior School.

The Early Years provision at Shatter locks is highly regarded across the county with children enjoying a wealth of learning experiences and opportunities, ensuring a sound basis upon which future learning can be based. Children enjoy and achieve through a lively, inclusive curriculum, which is constantly evolving to develop a lifelong love of learning. The daily breakfast and after school clubs ensure that we offer wrap-around care to all our children.

At Shatter locks the relationship between children, staff, school and home is seen as vital to enabling all children to achieve their full potential.

Barton Junior school is a two-form entry Junior school (ages 7-11) in the heart of Dover. We provide our children with an excellent continuation of their education from infant school. Our aim is for every child to reach their full potential through creating a stimulating and caring environment that provides challenges and enjoyment, where children’s natural curiosity and wonder about the world around them is encouraged, where children will thrive.

We believe in the partnership between home and school and believe ‘Together we make a difference.’ All members of the team play a vital part in achieving this and are recognised as valuable members of the school community.
