We are looking to recruit a Support Worker waking nights to join our team.
Full Time: 37.5 Hours per week (across any 7 days)
Shift times: 21:30pm - 07:30am
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour
Swerford House is located in Temple Ewell in Dover, Kent. It offers residential support to up to six males who are autistic or have a learning disability. Our home is located semi-rurally on a private estate, at top of bank with magnificent views of the valley and local farm.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

As a Support Worker waking nights you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of our residents and tenants. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

- Encouraging people to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills and achieving goals at their own pace
- Supporting tenants in a person centred way, which can include assisting with personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living skills, including maintenance of their tenancy
- Complete daily administration of electronic and paper records with the involvement of the individual as appropriate
- Supporting the individual in maintaining their health and wellbeing, which may involve liaising with other specialists
- Supporting and encouraging the individual’s participation and integration in the local community through activities and interests that meet their ambitions and help them achieve outcomes in their chosen way
- Embedding the REACH standards in everyday practice
- Following company policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills- Excellent interpersonal skills and resilience

- Competent in verbal and written English
- A social care qualification is desirable, but not essential
