Overview
As a Police Officer at the Port of Dover, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for one of the UK's most critical transport hubs. Working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective, visible policing that supports both public safety and the commercial success of the Port.
Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality policing services aligned to operational priorities and Port objectives
- Collaborate with strategic partners, agencies, and stakeholders across the Port environment
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for passengers, staff, and visitors
- Take ownership of specific portfolios to support efficient policing operations and continuous improvement
- Support counter‑terrorism protective security and policing of busy, high‑footfall environments
- Apply initiative and innovation in planning and delivering operational activity
- Uphold the values and reputation of the Port of Dover Police
We're looking for a driven and adaptable Police Officer who can balance operational policing with a commercial awareness of the Port environment.
Essential Requirements- Successfully completed police probation (2 years service) or recently served (within the last 2 years) as a Police Officer in the RAF, Army, Royal Navy or UK Police Force
- Ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC level)
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication and partnership‑working skills
- Policing within crowded or complex public environments
- Counter‑terrorism or protective security experience
- A self‑motivated individual with energy, resilience, and initiative
- Someone who thrives on challenges and is eager to develop their skills
- A strong team player who contributes to a positive and high‑performing culture

40 hours per week (day and night shifts)
SalaryUp to £47,633 DOE
