Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or other closely related field.
  • BCBA Board Certification (BCBA), in good standing within registry

Position Overview
  • Consult and collaborate with, support, and/or coach individual staff or teams of teachers/school personnel regarding classroom management, individual student needs, and data collection.
  • Participate in pre-referral problem-solving teams (e.g. Multiple Tiered System of Supports; academic response-to-intervention; etc.).
  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments of students identified with maladaptive behaviors that interfere with their educational and academic performance.
  • Create a comprehensive evaluation report of the Functional Behavior Assessment and present findings to the student’s IEP team and family.
  • Develop an all encompassing Behavior Intervention Plan upon completion of the Functional Behavior Assessment that includes: antecedent interventions, functionally equivalent replacement behaviors, and strategies for increasing replacement skills/behaviors, while targeting challenging behaviors for reduction.
  • Present Behavior Intervention Plans to staff, and the student’s family, in a meaningful and collaborative way.
  • Provide behavioral skills training for instructional staff regarding each student’s Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Develop an implementation fidelity checklist for each Behavior Intervention Plan, complete fidelity checks, and follow up with feedback and additional training for instructional staff as needed.
  • Develop user friendly data collection systems for behaviors targeted for reduction, as well as to track replacement behaviors and skills.
  • Maintain current graphs of all behavioral data collected, and help instructional teams make data informed decisions regarding behavioral and educational interventions.
  • Participate in behavioral crisis intervention as needed, facilitate debriefing meetings post crisis, and complete required documentation.
  • Report behavioral data analysis and progress to appropriate entities.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, to include reporting of functional behavior assessment results; present graphs of student progress of behaviors targeted for reduction and progress with increasing replacement behaviors and skills; and to help the IEP team make data informed decisions regarding behavioral and educational interventions.
  • Participate in and provide building/district professional development related to behavior analysis.
  • Participate in instructional team meetings and collaborate with other professionals, (e.g. Speech; OT; PT, nursing, etc.), to take a multidisciplinary approach to help the development of the whole child.
  • Establish and maintain open basis of communication with students, parents, staff and administration.
  • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day consistent with contract obligations.
