The Physician Assistant works independently and collaborates with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment in hospital and physician practice settings. The PA manages patient care throughout treatment, performs pre, intra, and post-operative surgical care, and ensures regulatory compliance.

• Examine patients, determine illnesses, prescribe treatments, and manage patient care autonomously within scope.
• Develop plans of care in coordination with multidisciplinary team and complete reports.
• Provide inpatient care, round on surgical patients, and deliver pre, peri, and post-op services.
• Order, review, and document laboratory and diagnostic procedures and issue prescriptions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records according to standards.
• Deliver patient education, counseling, and instruction.
• Participate in performance improvement, accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities.
• Perform all duties within scope and range of job responsibilities.

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant
• Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Physician Assistant Licensure, and Controlled Substances Registration
• Two years general surgery experience and post-operative management of surgical patients. New graduates with appropriate rotations acceptable.

• Three years experience as a Physician Assistant in a specific area of practice.
