Position is responsible for all aspects of the medical billing process from generating complete medical claims submissions to a completed and paid A/R. Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records, assigns appropriate ICD‑10 and/or CPT‑4 codes to unfinished medical claims, and maintains a full cycle of medical billing from submission to payment.

Full‑time, 80 hours;
Shift: Days.
- Code correct medical billing claims generated from the EMR and submit the claims correctly from the first time.
- Abstract data from patients’ medical records to maintain full diagnosis coding and charges capture when needed.
- Review and analyze records for errors and correct them immediately.
- Identify and verify medical necessity from updated policies published by the insurance carriers.
- Inform responsible channels of issues that create loss of reimbursement, constant errors and other issues pertaining to management.
- Maintain daily A/R functions and be responsible for any revenue cycle issues due to medical billing problems.
- Respond to physician inquiries regarding proper documentation of diagnostic procedural information and coding assignments as needed.
- Respond to patient inquiries concerning invoicing or related financial issues as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate Program;
Medical Coding & Billing - Credential(s):
- Experience:
Office setting experience preferred; EPIC, 3–6 years’ experience with full medical billing functions.
