Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, families, and visitors in person or over the phone.
  • Confirm and schedule appointments.
  • Retrieve and review patient information prior to appointments.
  • Register new patients by electronically entering demographics, insurance, and other information.
  • Check‑in patients electronically, collect copays, verify demographics and insurance, scan new insurance cards, and schedule well‑visits.
  • Check‑out patients electronically, ensuring all requests are fulfilled before departure.
  • Maintain fax and scan portals, uploading documents to the EHR.
  • Distribute necessary paperwork for school, daycare, sports, or other services.
  • Manage office inventory, submit orders, and keep supplies stocked.
  • Reconcile charges to payments at the end of each business day.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment per standards and regulations.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to all professional standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of two years in customer service (required).
  • Minimum of one year of EMR/EHR experience (preferred).
  • Minimum of two years in a medical office (preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of medical terminology (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Skillset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong EMR and general computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • High level of professionalism and teamwork.
  • Intermediate to fluent level Spanish (preferred).
