Build and lead a litigation practice at a fast growing Delaware law firm, with a ready flow of referred matters, real ownership of your cases, and a collegial team behind you.
A bit about us:Our client is an established, privately held law firm that has grown quickly across Delaware over the past several years. The firm has multiple offices throughout the state and also serves clients in neighboring jurisdictions. Its practice centers on property transactions, closings, entity formation, and estate and bankruptcy matters. It is now building out a dispute resolution capability in its Dover office and wants a commercial litigator to lead that effort.
The firm is known for responsive service, a collegial culture, and clients who come back and refer others.
- Build something:
You would help shape a litigation practice at an expanding firm, with real input on how it develops. - Ready referral base:
The firm’s transactional and business clients already generate disputes that currently go elsewhere, so you start with a steady source of matters. - Real ownership:
Expect early responsibility for your own cases and client relationships rather than years of document review. - Collaborative culture:
You’d work alongside experienced transactional attorneys in a supportive, low ego environment. - Local to Dover:
You’d practice in the community where you work, with less of the commuting and billing pressure typical of larger firms. - Growth path: A growing firm with a new practice line means room to take on leadership as the group expands.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the Delaware Bar (admission in Maryland or Pennsylvania is a plus)
- Several years of commercial litigation experience, including contract disputes, business and partnership conflicts, and real property related claims
- Demonstrated experience handling matters from pleading through discovery, motion practice, and trial or settlement
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Sound judgment and the ability to manage a caseload independently
- Comfort developing business and nurturing referral relationships
- Professional, client focused communication style
