Mobile Operations Assistant/Driver
Responsible for driving a 26‑ft box truck to and from blood drives in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties and surrounding areas, preparing equipment and supplies, and assisting with donor registration and care in accordance with BBD guidelines.
Responsibilities- Operate shift schedules: morning, evening, and weekend shifts; schedule released 2 weeks in advance.
- Drive blood bank vehicles safely and arrive on time.
- Set up and break down blood drives.
- Prepare equipment and supplies, load/unload transport vehicles, and maintain supplies orderly and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with donor care activities, primarily registration of donors, and handle miscellaneous duties to ensure a safe and efficient mobile blood draw operation.
- Maintain blood bank vehicles: perform vehicle inspections, minor upkeep, and keep vehicle clean; report additional maintenance needs to Facilities Department.
- Complete DOT logs and reports as required.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 2+ years of experience driving 26‑ft box trucks or other large vehicles requiring a Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC), Form MCSA‑5876.
- Working knowledge of large vehicle operation, parts, and basic preventative maintenance procedures; ability to read and interpret basic mechanical and technical procedures.
- Ability to prepare basic reports related to vehicle maintenance and identify mechanical failures to reduce downtime.
- Ability to accurately enter donor information for registration into the computer system.
- Ability to provide high‑quality service to all customers; must be able to multi‑task and work a variable schedule.
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC), Form MCSA‑5876 REQUIRED.
