Position Summary
Building our aircraft comes down to the details. However minute, each part serves a purpose and must be in perfect working condition before flight. It’s your duty as an Aircraft Metals Technology specialist to create and maintain these essential parts. From repairs to final fitting, you’ll fabricate and custom fit these metal components to make sure all our aircraft are ready to successfully complete their missions.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Perform precision grinding and remove poisonous and corrosive deposits
- Make templates, draw working sketches, consult shop drawings and select materials
- Use calipers, micrometers and gauges to measure worn or defective parts
- Inspect and maintain hand tools and metal-crafting machinery
- Perform other duties as assigned to support aircraft metal fabrication and maintenance

- Up to a $10,000 bonus with a six-year contract (dependent on member meeting all eligibility requirements based on IAW Air Force policy and law)
This is an active-duty position as an Air Force Reserve officer. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or GED with 15 college credits
- Mechanical ASVAB requirements
- Knowledge of metal repair and fabrication process
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 39
