General SummaryPlans, organizes, and directs all activities of entirety of the Bayhealth Diagnostic Imaging Services.
Responsibilities- Develops a leadership team that promotes innovation, accountability and excellence in the furtherance of Bayhealth’s Mission and strategic goals; promotes and values collaborative efforts to achieve these goals.
- As an agent for change and growth, provides leadership and direction in the application of new and emerging technologies to enhance the services provided by reporting departments.
- Actively supports clinical activities by working to create a culture of service and excellence within reporting departments as a catalyst for furthering the Bayhealth Patient Experience. Provides opportunities for DI Departments to work collaboratively.
- Analyzes current service area needs and develops key business strategies in alignment with the Bayhealth strategic plan in order to effectively leverage clinical/quality, financial, service, and market opportunities; reports progress of achieving business strategies and goals quarterly.
- Researches, recommends and develops new programs and growth opportunities by preparing and implementing business plans in order to develop, grow, and integrate services in alignment with the Bayhealth strategic plan working in collaboration with the Business and Strategic Planning Department.
- Adhere to the productivity standards developed for Diagnostic Imaging.
- Analyzes and makes recommendations regarding the Diagnostic Imaging revenue cycle in collaboration with the Finance Department and Internal Audit. Reviews, recommends and implements changes in billing policies, fees and charge masters annually in order to achieve budgeted revenue, reduces denials and ensures compliance with third party payor guidelines.
- Evaluates the clinical performance of Diagnostic Imaging in order to identify opportunities to improve patient care. Assists in the implementation of professional evidenced-based best practice initiatives as determined by data review and analysis.
- Maintains an atmosphere in each department that promotes high quality patient care, while maintaining satisfaction of physicians, staff, and external parties. Collaborates effectively with matrixed areas in order to improve patient care and satisfaction; and creates a culture of teamwork as measured by patient satisfaction scores.
- Provides oversight for the recruitment and compensation process to ensure engaged and competent staff in collaboration with the Human Resources Department and measured by action data and market data.
- Establishes and maintains the essential link between the Diagnostic Imaging Department leadership and other physician/clinical services to ensure a comprehensive offering throughout the service areas. Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with Bayhealth medical staff and referring physicians as measured by a 360‑degree feedback, ongoing dialogue/feedback, and completion of any physician action plan(s). Assists with the recruitment of physicians to the service area and recommends qualified candidates based on the standards established by the Bayhealth medical staff development plan.
