Base pay range: $36.17/hr - $56.06/hr

General Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Location and Shift

Kent Campus Hospital, Full Time, 72 Hours, Evening/Night

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
  • Develop a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
  • Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
  • Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
  • Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
  • Demonstrate standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
  • Execute quality and performance improvement plans.
  • Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
  • All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience
  • Education:

    Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Credential(s):
    Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience:

    New or pending graduates welcome to apply.
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience
  • Education:

    Bachelor Degree Nursing (BSN).
  • Credential(s):
    Certification related to the position, if applicable.
  • Experience:

    Experience in relevant specialty – Ortho, Neuro, Spine.
