Overview

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

$36.17/hr - $56.06/hr

Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Full Time 72 Hours

Shift: Nights / Variable

SALARY RANGE: 36.17 - 56.06 HOURLY

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence including core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

• Education:
  
  Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Credential(s):
  Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support
• ACLS / PALS may be required per manager’s direction; commitment to seeking specialty certification within the indicated time frame during interview
• Experience:
  
  Acute care RN experience preferred, but not required

• Education:
  
  Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Credential(s):
  Certification related to the position, if applicable
• Experience:
  
  Experience in relevant specialty (Critical Care ICU)
