The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill are performed in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to determine best treatment decisions, when appropriate.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
• Demonstrate standards of excellence, including practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (RP) evaluation only.
• Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (RP).
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• All other duties as assigned within scope and range of job responsibilities.

• Education:
  
  Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Credential(s):
  Registered Nurse;
  Basic Life Support; ACLS/PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe. Commit to seeking specialty certification within timeframe indicated during interview.
• Experience:
  
  Must have experience in multiple women's services areas.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor Degree Nursing.
• Credential(s):
  Certification related to the position, if applicable.
