Our Sussex Campus is 30 minutes to the Delaware beaches and relaxation in the sand!

Responsibilities- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop a patient‑centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Delegate to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence which include practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
- Demonstrate understanding and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
- Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
Diploma or Associate Degree Nursing - Credential(s):
Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) - Credential(s): ACLS / PALS, NRP, STABLE may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe; commit to seeking specialty certification within the time frame as indicated during interview.
- Experience:
Experience in NICU / Special Care Nursery is highly preferred; the hiring manager is willing to consider RNs experienced in the acute‑care hospital setting. The hiring manager is not considering new grads at this time.
- Education:
Bachelor Degree Nursing (BSN) - Credential(s):
Certification related to the position, if applicable. - Experience:
Experience in relevant specialty, NICU / Special Care Nursery.
