We offer various practice settings throughout Kent and Sussex Counties. Bayhealth Medical Center Kent Campus is 90 minutes from Philadelphia, Washington, DC and Baltimore. Our Sussex Campus is 30 minutes to the Delaware beaches.

General SummaryThe Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.
Responsibilities- Provide direct, professional nursing care to a specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop a patient‑centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide the best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Delegate to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence, including practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
- Understand and execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
- Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma. - Credentials:
Basic Life Support;
Registered Nurse; ACLS/PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe; commitment to seeking specialty certification within the timeframe indicated during interview. - Experience:
