Responsibilities
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Behavioral Health
Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dover, Delaware. The hospital offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Over 10,000 patients receive care each year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers medications as prescribed, provides education to patients and families, and documents accordingly.
- Completes nursing assessments, transcribes medication orders, and maintains patient records.
- Identifies patient problems, needs, and strengths, and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and provides age‑specific communication and interventions.
- Assists patients with daily living activities, reports changes in status, and prepares patients for discharge.
Required:
- Current license to practice nursing in State of Delaware (or eligible to receive or renew)
Preferred:
- Current BLS certification (facility able to provide)
- Behavioral Health experience
- 7a-7p
- Every other weekend rotation
Dover Behavioral Health System is a STAR LRP‑approved facility. The Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program is available to qualified staff.
