General DescriptionWelcomes and assists visitors courteously as the first point of contact; notifies staff upon visitor arrival, assists clients and maintains telecommunications systems.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma/GED: additional experience and/or training in social services or non-profit experience is preferred
Duties and Responsibilities- The receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors (in person, telephone, email, website)
- Ability to use de-escalation techniques when faced with a challenging client
- Answer phone, schedule appointments, data entry as needed
- Assist clients with completing applications and required forms for CAPSC programs
- Assist with maintaining, cleaning, organizing the food pantry
- Assist with distribution of USDA commodity foods and donated food pantry items. Including record keeping requirements; preparing food bags/boxes for clients
- Monitor public areas for cleanliness; clean when necessary
- Collaborate with staff and clients as necessary to maintain a safe environment for all
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner suitable for an office environment at all times
