General Description

Welcomes and assists visitors courteously as the first point of contact; notifies staff upon visitor arrival, assists clients and maintains telecommunications systems.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma/GED: additional experience and/or training in social services or non-profit experience is preferred

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors (in person, telephone, email, website)
  • Ability to use de-escalation techniques when faced with a challenging client
  • Answer phone, schedule appointments, data entry as needed
  • Assist clients with completing applications and required forms for CAPSC programs
  • Assist with maintaining, cleaning, organizing the food pantry
  • Assist with distribution of USDA commodity foods and donated food pantry items. Including record keeping requirements; preparing food bags/boxes for clients
  • Monitor public areas for cleanliness; clean when necessary
  • Collaborate with staff and clients as necessary to maintain a safe environment for all
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner suitable for an office environment at all times
  • Help where needed and other duties as assigned
