Job DescriptionAn ESOL Newcomer Interventionist is a para educator who provides language and academic support and instruction to students who qualify as an immigrant student, under the guidance and direction of an ESOL teacher. An ESOL Newcomer Interventionist may support classroom access for immigrant/newcomer students, may assesses student progress, and will collaborate with the ESOL teacher to help students achieve their academic and language goals.
This is a full time para position: 6.5 hours/week (one year only).

Job Requirements- Experience providing intervention services in English Language Development preferred. Ability to use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with immigrant students who are learning English. Proficient in the use of technology to support program implementation and communication with stakeholders. Preferable experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
Endorsement/Certification required:
Para educator II;
Associates Degree or Comparable. - Associate degree preferred.
