Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens.

Essential Functions- Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Process specimens by verifying patient information, accessioning samples into the laboratory information system, and preparing samples for testing.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
- Follow established procedures and protocols for specimen handling, storage, and disposal.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards including use of personal protective equipment, proper disposal of hazardous materials, and laboratory accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management.
Education:
Associate's Degree in a related field of study (preferred) or High School Diploma or Equivalent (required). Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting (1‑2 years preferred).
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Standing, walking, and mobility:
Frequently (34‑66%) or occasionally (3‑33%) varies. Lifting:
Frequently (34‑66%) 35 lbs+ with assisted device; carrying frequently 20‑35 lbs. Pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching: occasionally or frequently as required. Gross and fine manipulation, constant vision and hearing, and constant speaking/frequent talking are required.

Pay Range: $17.36 – $23.92 per hour (Grade 3).
