Position Overview

WIsEngineering is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with Strong Analytics & Dashboard Development Experience to support critical defense programs at Picatinny Arsenal. In this role, you will design, build, deploy, and maintain data pipelines, applications, and interactive dashboards that track prototype performance, modeling & simulation (M&S) outputs, experimental test metrics, and technical maturation trends.

You will leverage enterprise Army platforms—including Army Vantage (Palantir Foundry)—and custom Python workflows to directly empower Government stakeholders and military leadership with timely, data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Data Pipeline & Architecture Engineering
  • Design, construct, and maintain secure data pipelines linking disparate defense data repositories, test environments, and M&S platforms.

  • Develop robust data models, ETL processes, and analytic logic using Python
, SQL, or other approved languages.

  • Ensure data integration, integrity, and automated pipeline execution across Army-approved environments.

2. Dashboard & Application Development
  • Build, enhance, and deploy user-centered dashboards and analytical tools in platforms such as Army Vantage and power/BI tools.

  • Translate raw prototype test parameters, M&S outputs, and trade-space trade-offs into clear, intuitive visualizations.

  • Monitor performance trends to support the long-term maintainability and continuous improvement of warfighter systems.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Product Management
  • Collaborate directly with Government engineering teams and program managers to define operational requirements and key performance parameters (KPPs).

  • Identify critical data sources and align visualization metrics with mission goals.

4. Workforce Training & Knowledge Transfer
  • Develop and deliver structured training programs for Government personnel covering dashboard usage, metric interpretation, and long-term sustainment.

  • Conduct hands-on technical workshops teaching Government personnel how to build, modify, and manage dashboards independently within Army-approved environments.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–7+ years in data engineering, dashboard creation, business intelligence, or data integration.

  • Core

    Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, Num Py, PySpark, or similar data libraries) and standard database query tools (SQL).

    • Direct experience with data platforms like Army Vantage (Palantir Foundry), Qlik, Tableau,
      or Power BI.

    • Practical background handling complex data sets (e.g., test data, telemetry, M&S outputs, or systems engineering trade spaces).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.

  • Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting defense initiatives(e.g., DEVCOM Armaments Center, PEO Ammo).

  • Hands-on experience creating automated data workflows within Palantir Foundry transforms/code repositories.

  • Strong background in user-experience (UX) principles for executive and operational defense dashboards.

  • Prior experience delivering technical training or leading adult learning workshops.
