Reporting to Zufall Health’s SVP of External Affairs, the Major Gift Officer (MGO) functions as a member of a dynamic development team within a robust and innovative community health system. The MGO is integral in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding individual major and corporate donors on behalf of the Zufall Health Foundation for the benefit of Zufall Health. Primary territory includes Somerset, Middlesex, and Morris counties.
The position may require reporting to the Somerville office; hybrid work is available.
- Proactively identify and cultivate prospects for fundraising activities including potential major donors and corporate donors.
- Steward individual and corporate donors in partnership with the SVP of External Affairs with a focus on the cultivation of major donors.
- Collaborate with the SVP of External Affairs and Communications team on the planning of annual and capital campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications team to plan, execute and support all Foundation cultivation events.
- Utilize CRM software to ensure accurate recording and tracking of gifts received, correspondence and timely donation acknowledgments.
- Coordinate with Finance team to reconcile donation deposits.
- Maintain ongoing communications with individual and corporate donors.
- Participate in strategic solicitation activities with SVP of External Affairs.
- Generate fundraising activity reports as required.
- Collaborate with SVP of External Affairs to identify planned giving opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of IRS regulations with regard to charitable donation laws.
- Perform other duties as directed by the SVP of External Affairs.
- Excellent writing, verbal, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects/deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in fundraising management databases.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and act with integrity.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Knowledge of local community is a plus.
- Excel at producing high-volume, fast-paced, detail-oriented work.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three years of fundraising experience.
- Experience in community health, public health, medicine or human services preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and fundraising database management.
Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year.
