Position Overview

The HVAC Technician will perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems in the plant located in Dover, New Jersey. Work hours are Midnight Shift Sunday Night – Thursday Night 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. with shift premium while assigned to an off‑shift.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure HVAC systems continue to run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
  • Perform electrical and refrigerant repairs to HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose problems with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems on HVAC machinery.
  • Align and balance equipment after installation, repair or service.
  • Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools and replace defective parts.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Support TPM efforts.
  • Train other maintenance personnel on equipment in the area.
Environmental Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing EHS values, policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job‑related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
Essential Job Functions

  • Be able to work with and diagnose problems with pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems on HVAC machinery.
  • Align and balance equipment after installation, repair or service.
  • Assemble, install and / or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to gain success to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools and replacing defective parts with new parts or repairs parts.
  • Inspect Operator and test Machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Support all TPM efforts.
  • Train other maintenance personnel on equipment in area.
Basic Qualifications
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export‑controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years’ experience as an HVAC technician or related experience
  • Holds a refrigeration Liscense
  • Self Starter and able to manage time and multiple projects
  • Computer literate
  • Must be able to read blue prints and measurement instruments.
  • Working knowledge of boiler system
Physical Demands / Equipment Used
  • The HVAC Technician is required to do frequent standing and lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 25 pounds.
  • This job also requires the use of hand and power tools as well as measurement equipment and computers.
  • The working conditions of this job vary but include exposure to mechanical moving equipment, precarious places, confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, outside weather conditions and vibration.
