DME Delivery Driver at Zufall Health
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Business Manager, the DME Delivery Driver will operate a vehicle to deliver oxygen tanks to facilities and equipment to patients, ensuring safe transport and compliance with all safety protocols. The driver maintains vehicle safety, performs pre‑and post‑trip checks, manages routine maintenance, and supports the mission and vision of Zufall Health Center.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities- Consistently adheres to all departmental policies and procedures.
- Conducts all tasks professionally and ethically.
- Works independently with minimal supervision, using available resources for problem resolution.
- Completes assignments promptly and efficiently.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure optimal care outcomes.
- Utilizes departmental resources prudently.
- Communicates positively to foster a positive departmental image.
- Communicates appropriately verbally and in writing.
- Keeps manager informed of work‑related issues.
- Performs additional duties as directed by supervisor.
- Loads vehicle and delivers oxygen and DME to correct addresses per manifest.
- Delivers, sets up, and instructs patients, family members, or caregivers on proper use of equipment.
- Maintains, cleans, and repairs equipment as per manufacturer instructions.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of deliveries with excellent customer experience.
- Builds and maintains strong customer relationships.
- Operates vehicle safely, reporting safety‑related issues immediately.
- Provides valid signatures as proof of delivery.
- Inspects vehicle and communicates needed repairs to supervisor.
- Keeps vehicle clean, organized, and in good condition.
- Collaborates with Medical Equipment Manager.
- Maintains a good driving record.
- Follows all local, state, and federal traffic laws.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and related regulations.
- Answers patient and public inquiries in person or by phone, referring as needed.
- Communicates effectively in English and Spanish.
- New Jersey Driver’s license.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to change.
- Ability to work independently.
- Great attention to detail. Education, Training and Experience
- High school diploma required; college credits or courses in medical field, insurance, or billing preferred.
- Current, unrestricted New Jersey Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year customer service experience.
- Experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting preferred.
$21.50 – $24.92 per hour
