Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team in Dover, Ohio on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone with hands-on experience managing high-volume invoice workflows, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment by handling invoice review, reconciliation, and related administrative support with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

- Process a steady volume of vendor invoices each month while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely entry into the system.

- Review purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to confirm alignment before approving transactions for payment.

- Assign correct general ledger codes to invoices and organize supporting documents through scanning and electronic recordkeeping.

- Reconcile vendor statements regularly and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate account balances.

- Support payment cycle activities, including preparing items for check runs and assisting with follow-up on outstanding issues.

- Enter financial and vendor information into Microsoft Dynamics and related systems with a high level of accuracy.

- Use Excel to track invoice activity, organize payable data, and assist with routine reporting needs.

- Contribute to additional accounting or administrative projects as assigned to support the broader finance team. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

- Practical experience processing invoices, coding transactions, and supporting payment operations.

- Familiarity with three-way matching involving purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.

- Ability to reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies in a high-volume environment.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel at a basic to intermediate level.

- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP or a similar accounting system.

- Strong data entry skills with close attention to accuracy, organization, and deadlines.
