Senior Financial Forecasting Accountant

Position Summary

Under supervision, this Financial Forecasting Senior Accountant will complete a variety of assignments as directed by the Supervisor, including financial forecasting, structured finance, cost segregation studies, and valuation type engagements. Some positions may offer remote or hybrid work arrangements; discuss options with your recruiter.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial forecasts and related assignments.
  • Evaluate and extract financial and non‑financial data from client documents such as letters of intent, audited financial statements, tax returns, partnership agreements, loan agreements, and related transaction agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients to optimize investment return profiles, evaluating ownership structures, subsidies, and financing options.
  • Participate in client and project finance meetings to discuss structuring investments that qualify for federal tax credits.
  • Document and reference assumptions used in financial modeling engagements.
  • Prepare summarized financial data reports.
  • Identify and communicate potential problem areas during engagements.
  • Assist, as necessary, with accounting, audit, and tax engagements related to year‑end financial statement audits, tax returns, cost certifications, and cost segregation studies.
  • Perform other related assignments as deemed appropriate.
Background and Skills
  • Interest in project and corporate finance, especially tax‑credit subsidized investments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate, time‑efficient work with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and follow‑through; ability to coordinate complex activities and prioritize conflicting demands.
  • Open to constructive feedback and willing to adjust.
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Very proficient with Microsoft Excel, including Sumif, COUNTIF, VLookup, Pivot tables, IF functions, IRR, MIRR, XIRR, PV, NPV, Goals Seek, MATCH, INDEX, CONCATENATE, and ROUND.
  • Solid computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite and report‑writing tools; quick to learn new programs.
  • Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
  • Adherence to firm deadlines, including time entry.
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting, real estate, and lending terminology is a plus.
  • Having passed sections of the CFA or CPA exam, or being eligible to sit for those exams, is a plus.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and domestic travel as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with renewable energy, historic preservation, new markets tax credits, affordable housing, low‑income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, HUD, real estate, developers, partnerships, forecasting, cost segregation, or partnership exits is helpful but not mandatory.

Compensation: $77,000 to $94,000, depending on experience. Higher pay may be possible based on qualifications.
