As a full-time Precision Manual Lathe & Mill Machinist with 3 years of hands‑on experience, you’ll be the craftsperson others count on to turn print into part. You’ll set up conventional machines, choose the right cutters, listen for harmonics, and deliver accurate components—whether it’s a single repair piece or a short production run. No weekends. Two shift options. Professional shop environment.
How your day flows
Shifts & schedule
1st Shift — Days- Monday — Friday
- 6:00 AM — 2:00 PM
- Overtime available up to 2 additional hours per day
- No weekends
- 3 regularly scheduled days per week, Monday — Friday
- 2:00 PM — 2:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts / 36 hours worked
- Paid for 40 hours
- Overtime may be available as a 4th, 8-hour day
- No weekends
Core responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related tooling to produce precision parts.
- Interpret blueprints/drawings and job notes to determine machining requirements.
- Establish cutting, boring, and machining strategies; set proper feed rates and spindle speeds.
- Prepare work pieces, align/secure accurately, and oversee coolant/lubrication during operations.
- Continuously check accuracy and surface quality; detect issues via sound, vibration, and visual cues.
- Adjust parameters to mitigate harmonics and maintain dimensional control.
- Inspect finished work against prints/specs and document results.
- Record all job start/stop times in DATS.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promptly report accidents or hazards.
What you bring
- Minimum 3 years of manual machining experience required.
- Proficiency running manual lathes and manual mills independently.
- Fluency in blueprint reading and interpreting machining specifications.
- Ability to hold precision tolerances and verify completed work against specifications.
- Strong command of feeds, speeds, tooling, and stock removal.
- Comfort thriving independently in a skilled machining environment.
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including random screenings.
