We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. The role will apply principles of accounting to complete financial analyses and reconciliations, prepare and post journal entries, analyze financial information, and prepare financial filings and reports. This position will be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Downers Grove, IL, and will be hybrid.
What you will do for UGN- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and month-end reconciliations, including amortization schedules. Post journal entries and support the month-end close process.
- Review and reconcile payroll and cash transactions.
- Prepare filings and reports as needed (Sales and Use Tax, USMCA, Unclaimed Property, Concur, among others). Perform responsibilities as necessary to meet filing and reporting requirements.
- Administer the Concur travel and expense reporting system. Maintain and update team member, policy, and vendor information and controls. Process expense reports for payment and post the journal entries.
- Perform supplier and project additions, closing, and maintenance responsibilities in Oracle.
- Compile and provide audit support as requested by external auditors.
- Work closely with IT to maintain and improve processes.
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Document processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to allow for cross-training and to display the necessary understanding.
- Perform special projects and other duties as required.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Accounting or Business from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 2 + years of corporate Accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications - Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Solid understanding and comfort with account reconciliations and month-end close processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills and eye for detail.
- Proactive, motivated, and team-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain accounting functions to other team members.

Pay range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00, and participation in our annual incentive plan. If you are offered this position at UGN, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and/or geographic location. In addition to those factors, UGN considers internal equity among current Team Members when developing the final offer.
