ARCO/Murray Power Solutions (AMPS) is currently seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our design team based in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed preliminary electrical system designs and power solutions in support of design/build projects that will include Entertainment, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Industrial, Commercial, and Manufacturing facilities.

- Prepare detailed preliminary electrical designs for design/build projects across various project types.
- Design and specify power systems including load calculations, one-line diagrams, equipment sizing and selection, equipment layouts, lighting photometric calculations, and associated system controls.
- Provide electrical design direction on projects and work with a national network of design consultants to help deliver projects.
- Perform arc flash and coordination studies using SKM power tools.
- Work as an integral part of a team procuring building switch gear, generators, UPS, and other power components directly from suppliers.
- Play a key role as part of the Power Solutions team delivering turnkey power solutions to clients, including supporting business development activities by finding solutions to complex projects.
- Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options in order to maximize cost savings and better execute projects.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as the electrical expert.
- Act with integrity that supports the company, its values, and employees while maintaining focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
- 2–5 years of electrical engineering/design experience in support of commercial or industrial construction projects.
- BIM experience preferred – Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM.
- Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Preferred experience working for an electrical engineering design consultancy.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred; ARCO/Murray will support pursuit of EIT and/or PE licensure.
- Experience creating design spreadsheets or coding scripts is a plus.
