CAD​/Application Specialist

Column Technical Services is hiring a technical
CAD/Application Specialist to provide AutoCAD application and technical support for a global leader in power, energy and nuclear power in Chicago. Be part of a dynamic and knowledgeable team with inspiring leadership at one of the most reputable architect-engineering firms in the world.

Hybrid - Applicants must reside in the Chicagoland area

In this position you will be responsible for providing application and technical support to design and collaborate with designers/engine personnel including investigating CAD user problems and determining and providing solutions.

Knowledge of CAD application configurations, these applications may include but is not limited to:

• Direct support and troubleshooting to project teams on the various CAD / engineering applications.
• Workspace configurations.
• Knowledge of VBA or some level of scripting knowledge/ or LISP is a plus
  .
• Maintaining applications, this includes working with deployment teams to implement updates via SCCM.
• Knowledge of deployments tools is a plus.
• Collaborate with end point administration and system administration groups to provide kiosk computer workstations, this may include physical desktop and virtual desktop implementations.
• Occasional travel may be required to other company office locations or to attend conferences.

• Minimum of 2-3 years related experience with associate degree.
• Strong knowledge of CAD design software

• Strong working knowledge of desktop operating system, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting of general applications, and CAD and Engineering applications.
• Knowledge of VBA or some level of scripting knowledge/or LISP is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus.
• Organize tasks and establish guidelines.
• Self-motivated, capable of multitasking and able to work well in a team environment.
