Pay Range $18.50 - $27.75
Major Responsibilities- Clean/disinfect assigned area(s) by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, patient televisions, windows, furniture, tile, fixtures, appliances, floors, and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions following procedures and schedules specific to each item.
- Assigned area(s) may include, but are not limited to, patient rooms, offices, meeting rooms, rest rooms, elevators, stairwells and other areas of the hospital and/or off‑site facilities.
- Operate various equipment following department procedures.
- Use chemicals and solutions following department policy.
- Keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction using AIDET with internal and external customers, resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively, maintain a positive attitude toward patient families and staff, exhibit patient tact, present the department positively, keep confidential information, follow chain of command with complaints and discharges, and maintain courteous and pleasant attitudes.
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize beds and entire rooms and washrooms when patients are discharged; use appropriate germicides and select cleaning materials and supplies as directed, replenish supplies, collect waste, observe infection control policies, sanitize emergency spills, place linen in chutes, ensure a safe environment, follow handwash policy, prepare detergents and solutions, and handle chemicals safely.
- Move equipment and furniture for cleaning or relocation, arrange furniture for meetings, clean equipment, report safety hazards, return unused supplies, and manage linen and trash, including hazardous and medical waste per Infection Control Committee procedures.
- Maintain professional growth by attending mandatory meetings and in‑services, completing annual CBTs, reviewing goals, and seeking learning opportunities.
- Maintain proper attendance, plan for time off, request PTO, provide adequate notice of absence, and comply with hospital policies.
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Able to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English related to job activities, including reading and comprehending chemical labels.
- Involves walking, standing, bending, climbing and lifting; lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, use lifting equipment or assistance for heavier loads.
- Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed case‑by‑case.

- Base compensation in the listed pay range based on qualifications and experience.
