Area Manager, Home Therapies

U.S. Renal Care

Location: Burbank, IL

Base Pay Range: $110,233 – $145,293 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive a growth strategic plan for the assigned territory and markets to achieve growth targets and financial goals.
  • Partner with local management to oversee home therapies operations from fiscal, clinical, technical, regulatory, personnel and business perspectives in accordance with company goals.
  • Work with RVPs, Home Therapies and Business Development teams to ensure sustainable growth and identify opportunities for new clinics.
  • Collaborate with administrators to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual projections based on financial and management objectives.
  • Engage physician partners regularly to assess needs and ensure satisfaction.
  • Achieve patient outcome target goals in line with quality care and company goals at assigned programs.
  • Identify opportunities to drive systematic changes in region to aid achievement of targets.
  • Collaborate with leaders on budget planning and strategies to improve fiscal performance.
  • Manage profit and loss of assigned programs to exceed budget.
  • Ensure implementation of all corporate initiatives and policies for home therapies.
  • Ensure home programs excel in clinic, patient satisfaction and operating standards.
  • Stay current with federal, state and local laws and regulations, including health care professional practice act requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and maintain certifications from regulatory agencies.
  • Triage operational issues in partnership with administrators and RVPs.
  • Initiate corrective action plan development and follow‑through for internal and external surveys.
  • Track and resolve deficiencies from audits (corporate, CMS, TDH).
  • Ensure attendance and participation in required governance and quality meetings.
  • Develop physician and referral source relationships and oversee local marketing efforts.
  • Serve as home therapy subject matter expert with medical directors and physicians.
  • Promote the company’s mission, ethics, integrity, safety and corporate responsibility.
  • Build cross‑functional partnerships within the organization.
  • Provide contractual agreements with collaborating agencies.
  • Establish and grow relationships with physicians and vendor partners.
  • Promote guest customer service standards and develop relationships at all levels.
  • Participate in corporate committees or task forces as requested.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
  • Develop home therapy knowledge for RVPs and administrators, enabling effective operation and growth.
  • Supervise development of home RNs, collaborating with administrators and directors.
  • Create a positive culture and support system for home staff across region(s).
  • Ensure correct staffing levels and quality for RN across region(s).
  • Maintain staff qualifications and performance per company policies and regulatory laws.
  • Hire and supervise program staff, collaborating with HR.
  • Manage personnel relations, evaluate performance, and administer time worked, counseling and discipline.
  • Lead staff under company team concepts, communicate expectations, and hold accountability.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years prior management experience of a multi‑site health care provider or three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated excellence in managing a dialysis program as an administrator.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or nursing required; other combinations of education, certifications and experience considered.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong public relations skills for interacting with physicians, vendors, hospital personnel and managed care organizations.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; proficiency in USRC applications within 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
