A well-established precision manufacturing company located in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our growing team. For decades, this organization has supplied high-quality components to aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. The Opportunity
As a Junior Buyer, you’ll support day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring the timely purchase and delivery of materials and services that keep production running smoothly. You’ll collaborate across departments, build supplier relationships, and gain valuable experience in manufacturing operations.
What You’ll Do
- Create and process purchase orders for materials, components, and services
- Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
- Track inventory levels and assist with material planning
- Support supplier evaluation and maintain accurate records
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet project needs
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience is a plus
- Driven, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a manufacturing environment
