Location:
Downers Grove, Illinois

Base rate per hour: $24.00

Shift: Days

Hours:
Generally, starts as early as 6:00 AM until finish. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required.

Responsibilities
  • Unloads products and supplies using pallet jack or forklift.
  • Checks quality of incoming materials and sanitizes, communicating with Quality Assurance as needed.
  • Rotates product by code date.
  • Repositions drums of up to 250 lbs.
  • Prepares and maintains Lot Code Traceability records.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of ingredients and their storage locations, as well as reading scaling and packaging schedules.
  • Maintains 5S within all storage areas.
  • Maintains excellent records relevant to Lot Code Traceability and 5S programs.
  • Communicates effectively with Scalers, Mixer Helpers, Supervisors, Maintenance, and QA on issues needing attention.
  • Works with super sacks daily.
  • Completes cycle counts on ingredients as needed.
  • Works with inventory coordinators daily to verify physical counts with SAP counts and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Uses computerized systems.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Assists with receiving materials and putting them away regularly.
  • Shipping break relief, if time allows.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Decision Making

    Skills:

    Strong decision making and communication skills. Use good judgment and ensure issues are quickly resolved and communicated with supervision. Fill out communication boards daily.
  • Food Safety Awareness:
    Adherence to HACCP, CTS, GMP, and JSA requirements; focus on contamination prevention, allergen control, and lot code traceability.
  • Formula Control:
    Ensure exact formula specifications and procedures to maintain bread quality and aligned label contents.
  • Maintains work area to 5S cleanliness, housekeeping and organizational standards.
Education/Experience
  • Distribution/Receiving/shipping/material handling
  • Forklift
  • SAP, computer programs
  • Qualified applicant will have thorough knowledge of HACCP/CTS/GMP/JSA/SOP policies and procedures for Scaling, Mixer Helper and Packaging Utility positions
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
