Overview

Firewall Administrator role at Nexlogica in Downey, CA. This position works under the direction of a Principal Network Systems Administrator (PNSA) Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that company networks align with business goals, maintaining and securing computer systems, and collaborating with IT staff to implement cyber security measures.

• Oversee maintenance and security of organization networks and computer systems, including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other hardware.
• Install and configure network equipment and updates to hardware or software; update virus protection to protect data and communications.
• Monitor systems to improve network performance; communicate issues to employees and management and assist in training new users.
• Work with employees to identify network or computer system needs, oversee installation of new hardware or software, and use feedback to isolate issues.
• Create instruction manuals for employees to navigate company networks (if applicable).

• Knowledge and experience in customer service, decision making, flexibility, interpersonal skills, leadership, organizational awareness, problem solving and risk management.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with information technology architecture, IT performance assessment, and information resources planning.
• Technical proficiency with the following technologies:
  Cisco ATA, Cisco ACI, Cisco APIC, Cisco Prime, Cisco VoIP Call Manager, CACTI, eCloud, Elastic Search, ITM, Open NMS, nGenius, McAfee/MVISION, Net Scout, SCOM, UTR, Struxure Ware, Secure Works WAF, Wireshark, Web CTRL.

• Minimum of five (5) years of broad networking knowledge and related IT skills, including Cisco competencies.
• Minimum of three (3) years in the last four (4) years as a Network Systems Administrator or similar role.
• Minimum of two (2) years in the last four (4) years in a security monitoring role.

• Firewall engineering and operations with primary experience in Cisco Firewall technologies (ASA, Fire Power).
• Experience configuring and managing ACLs, S2S VPNs, BGP, IPSec, routing, and tuning in multi-context environments.
• Experience using CLI for tasks and using the Firewall Management Console (FMC).
• Configuring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco Fire Power IPSs; collaboration with Datacenter Engineers and Security teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Computer Science field.
