American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of ICU experience.

• ICU/CCU unit setting on night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30)
• 15-week contract assignment
• Possible float to DOU, Tele, or Med Tele units
• Every other weekend required
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Allscripts charting system experience required
• Epic experience required

• Active California RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, MAB or VIP, NIHSS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Proficiency in Flo Trac/Vigileo monitoring, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
• CRRT/CVVHD experience preferred
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal experience preferred
• Ultrasound-guided PIV and Level 1/Rapid Infuser skills preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• References required
• Copies of required certifications must be submitted for consideration

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU/CCU patients, including multi-system organ failure management
• Responsible for chest tube insertion/removal assistance, wound vac care, and surgical wound management
• Must pass an onsite advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) within two attempts prior to start and one onsite attempt; failure results in assignment cancellation
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 3 days RTO for the full contract
• Must be willing to work holidays
• All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application
• Free parking available onsite
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous travelers preferred; first-time travelers not preferred
• Return staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis
