Job Details Description Work to be performed- Greet customers, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered, receive the correct amount tendered and provide the correct change for each transaction.
- Enact gift cards requested by customers.
- Be familiar with and up-to-date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, fast manner.
- Make corrections to customer orders quickly and efficiently.
- Detect counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.
- Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Treat all customers to ensure their complete satisfaction.
- Report to work in a neat, clean uniform; well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
- Clean and maintain equipment used.
- Complete required in-service training, attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
- Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of California Fish Grill and the facility.
- Cooperates with and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, including precautions, safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security; reports and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of all data, including guest credit card information.
- Complies with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Supports and participates in common teamwork: cooperates and works together with all co‑workers; plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, using appropriate judgment.
- Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
- Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
- Promotes positive public relations with community, family members and guests.

- Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure.
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe (100% effort).
- Hazards include cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.
- Must be of legal age according to state regulations to serve alcohol.
- Follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.
- Proficient reading and writing skills.
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
- Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less.

- High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Prior experience in cashier or food service positions.
- Valid Serv Safe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.
- High level of integrity and honesty.
Restaurant environment. When warranted, may be required to work beyond normal hours as needed to meet customer needs or restaurant requirements.
