Job Overview

At TJX Companies, the Home Goods store in Downey, CA seeks a Retail Associate to deliver a highly satisfying customer experience. The role supports daily operations, merchandising, and loss prevention across multiple store areas.

• Model superior customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases, returns, and admit change per established procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy, follow procedures and standards, and prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery as required during the day.
• Maintain all cleanliness and organizational standards for the sales floor and assist with store-wide cleanliness.
• Provide and accept constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to store shrink reduction, safety awareness, and a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capability for multi‑tasking and responding to changes in direction.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Preferred retail customer experience.

Starting pay range: $16.50 to $17.00 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience.
