The Role

We are looking to recruit a Shop Manager (Fixed Term Part Time; 22.5 hours per week - 3 days over 6 days) to join our Northern Ireland Retail team in Vincent's Downpatrick IS. The post holder will manage a St Vincent de Paul charity shop, focusing on sales maximisation, productivity, revenue, and customer service while ensuring compliance with SVP retail standards, health and safety, legislation, and organisational values.

Education
  • Essential: 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
  • Desirable:
    Third‑level qualification in a business‑related field or equivalent.
Experience
  • Essential:
    Minimum of 3 years experience in a customer‑facing retail environment.
  • Experience managing or working with a diverse team.
  • Experience working towards sales targets.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience producing and analysing sales reports.
  • Desirable:
    Experience gained in the community or voluntary sector.
  • Desirable:
    Proven experience as a retail manager with strong track record in store standards and customer service delivery.
  • Desirable:
    Experience managing and organising events.
Skills
  • Essential:
    Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Essential:
    Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple functions and locations.
  • Essential:
    Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Essential:
    Competence in IT systems including Excel, Word, EPOS and Microsoft 365.
