Nottingham Job Type: Permanent
Shift: Day shift Salary: £14- 16 per hour An established precision engineering and sheet metal manufacturing company in Nottingham is looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join its team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will inspect precision-engineered and fabricated components, ensuring that all products meet the required drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Inspect incoming, in-process and finished components. Check fabricated and machined parts against technical drawings and customer specifications. Use inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, height gauges and calipers. Carry out dimensional and visual inspections. Complete and maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation. Identify defects, dimensional issues and non-conforming products. Raise and assist with investigating non-conformance reports. Work closely with production, welding, fabrication and engineering teams.
Support corrective and preventative actions. Ensure products meet internal quality standards before dispatch. Maintain a clean, organised and safe inspection area. Skills and Experience Required Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Experience inspecting fabricated, welded or sheet metal components. Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Competent using manual measuring and inspection equipment. Strong understanding of tolerances and dimensional inspection.
Excellent attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to work independently and confidently challenge quality concerns.
Experience with CMM equipment would be advantageous but is not essential. Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards would be beneficial. Whats on Offer? Permanent employment.
