Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic product development team focused on grooming and beauty appliances. In this role, you will oversee the mechanical design and development of products such as shavers, groomers, epilators, and IPL devices, from initial concept through to mass production. Your expertise will help bring innovative, high‑performance appliances to market that deliver real value to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities- Design and detail mechanical components and systems according to product specifications.
- Conduct predictive analyses and calculations to ensure functionality and manufacturability.
- Select appropriate materials (metals and plastics) and manufacturing processes.
- Create detailed 3D and 2D drawings, ensuring they meet manufacturing and assembly requirements.
- Manage product specifications, lead DFMEA processes, and adhere to the V‑model development methodology.
- Develop prototypes, lead ideation sessions, and drive concept validation and decision‑making.
- Plan and prioritize workload, collaborating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams using agile methods.
- Write test protocols, conduct tests, analyze results, and develop new testing methods where needed.
- Work closely with colleagues in systems engineering, electronics, manufacturing, and procurement to ensure project success.
- Document design decisions, maintain records in a design history file, and archive files in Windchill.
- Drive continuous improvement initiative identifying gaps and implementing enhancements within the mechanical engineering group.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 3‑5 years of experience in mechanical product design for mass production.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Siemens NX or CREO).
- Strong knowledge of designing plastic and metal components with manufacturability and tooling in mind.
- Experience with CFD, FEA (e.g., Ansys), and other analytical software is a plus.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proven ability to develop prototypes quickly and move concepts into production.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (greenbelt certification is advantageous).
- Knowledge of medical devices or experience in the medical device industry is a plus but not required.
