Senior Accountant

American Eagle Ready Mix Utah (AERMUT) is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team. This role is responsible for advanced accounting functions, month‑end close, and accurate financial reporting across multiple locations. You’ll work closely with Operations, Fleet, HR, Plant Leadership, and Corporate Accounting while supporting the Controller and Director of Finance with higher‑level reporting, analysis, and system enhancements.

• Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close schedules
• Manage multi‑location general ledger activity in compliance with US GAAP
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide insights to leadership
• Maintain accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules
• Lead monthly inventory reconciliations and cost analysis
• Perform production, material, freight, and inventory variance analysis
• Support fleet and equipment reporting, including cost allocation and utilization
• Partner with HR on payroll‑related reconciliations and benefit liabilities
• Assist with state and local tax reporting and compliance
• Support SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit requests
• Lead or support process improvements and system enhancements
• Mentor and support junior accounting team members
• Prepare ad‑hoc reports and assist with special projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, inventory, and cost accounting
• Experience with GL management and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (Net Suite preferred)
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or ready‑mix industry a plus
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environment
